In search of the unsuspecting heirs

Zurich historian Jürg Nobs and his firm Aicher, Nobs and Partners are searching for unknown heirs of deceased individuals. With extensive research and tact, he is attempting to “save” inheritances from the state – because in Switzerland, estates without heirs are passed on to the canton and municipality.

Nobs only receives his fee when the heirs actually receive money— he never requests advance payments. In addition to tracing heirs, he conducts traditional genealogical research, creating family trees and genealogical reports. For him, his profession is less a business than a passion for history and solving intriguing family mysteries.
